For the next couple of weeks, I’ll be giving you snippets from a short story I wrote called Old Wounds. This is the third part. You can find the other parts here.
When we left Master Sorne, she had been pondering why thieves would be so stupid to rob her.
Dilan cleared his throat. “He says its urgent.”
“Is it the King?”
“No.”
“The Rivvis?”
“No.”
“Then tell him to go take a piss.”
There was a pause, then a new voice sounded in the shop. “I don’t think that would be wise, Mistress Sorne.”

Great snippet! It really sets the pecking order for Master Sorne. I have a feeling she’ll want to hear what the mysterious stranger has to say. Can we make this bi-weekly submissions? Guess we’ll have to wait until next Saturday.

And the tension continues to ratchet. She’s very plain and I’m sure that rubs a lot of people the wrong way, but I’m sure she can handle herself and I can’t wait to see how she does.

Well, her life isn’t actually that short, but that’s hinted at later…still, she’s lived too long to put up with crap. 🙂
